The Millennium Development Goals were adopted in 2000 by all
States Members of the United Nations Organization, as a
commitment to combat inequality and improve the human
development in the world.
Within the Millennium Declarations, minimum agreement to be
fulfilled for 2015, is found the reduction of the infant and
maternal mortality rates.
More than 65% of infant mortality in all Latin America
and the Caribbean region is
given mainly by neonatal mortality whose causes are related to
preventable factors through efficient and scientifically
evaluated programs of public health.

Provide specialized and high-quality advisory services to
governmental and nongovernmental entities working in neonatal
health, especially in public health, epidemiology and education
subjects.
